Post-Covid, Singapore airlines have updated its policies for the convenience of passengers. Hence, to help you save money on cancellation and refund procedure, we have jotted down the updated cancellation and refund policy of Singapore airlines below:
Singapore airlines cancellation policy
According to Singapore airline’ cancellation policy, only tickets purchased directly from Singapore airlines’ ticket office or on Singapore airlines’ website or mobile app are eligible for online cancellation. Tickets purchased from a third party or travel agent cannot be canceled online. For that, the respective travel agent needs to be contacted for completing the cancellation process.
Keeping in mind the Covid emergencies, the airlines have waived off the cancellation and no-show fees for all the flights that were booked on or before 15 March 2020 and had a departure up to 31 March 2021. Moreover, both refundable and non-refundable tickets to and from the USA booked 7 days or more before the departure date can be canceled without cancellation charges only within 24 hours of purchase. If you are canceling your ticket due to unforeseen reasons such as a travel ban for specific countries, then no cancellation fees will be imposed.
Singapore airlines refund policy
For cancellation of all SIA, Silkair, and other tickets that were booked on or before 15 March 2020 and meant to be flown by 31 March 2021, a full refund will be provided on the unused segment of the ticket. However, if you had retained your money as flight credits upon cancellation, then you must have got the bonus credits ranging from $50-$350 depending on your ticket class for your new booking. So, you can now use these credits for your travel with Singapore airlines up to 31 December 2021. This is applicable to even the tickets that were booked via a travel agent.
Even the cancellation of non –refundable fares can be used as flight credits for future bookings. If you wish to know the presence of flight credits on flights booked after 15 March 2020, then do contact the airlines for more information.
How to check flight credits?
If your flight was booked before or on 15 March 2020 and departure was till 31 March 2021, then you can easily check the balance of these credits in the manage bookings tab. You just need to enter your associated booking number and passenger’s last name under the manage booking and then click on the check flight credit balance box.
How to use these flight credits?
To avail your flight credits for new bookings, you simply need to select a suitable flight from Singapore air.com and enter the booking number associated with the flight credits. If you confront any issue do contact our support team.
